Sometimes unmet needs are explicit and clearly articulated, and have been for a long while. But for one reason or another, effective solutions haven't been brought forward.
Other times, unmet needs are latent and unarticulated. How many folks:
Were "screaming for" post-it notes before they were invented by 3M?
Just "had to have" a mini-van before this innovation was brought to market by Chrysler?
