You won't see ToneDoctor bringing forward yet another "new" guitar, amp, speaker cabinet, or speaker. There are many talented individuals doing outstanding work in these areas already, and our efforts in these areas would necessarily be redundant to a significant degree.
You will see ToneDoctor bringing forward innovations which improve these base "building blocks", to increase their tonal flexibility and variety, and realize their full tonal potential. Our Solo, Deuce and Tres product lines are concrete examples of this.
You'll also see us bringing forward innovations that focus on improving and optimizing the overall system formed by these base building blocks.
Your tone is formed by a complicated system comprised of a multitude of highly interacting, nonlinear components - pick, strings, pickups, guitar, guitar cable, amp, speaker cable, speakers and speaker cabinet. As if that weren't enough, many of these components are in turn systems in their own right, comprised of many other components. Ever take apart a pickup? A speaker? Open up your guitar electronics cavity? Look inside your amp chassis? You get the picture - its indeed a very complicated system that creates your tone.
Strikingly, while there are an enormous number of talented individuals working to improve and optimize these base building blocks, there is next to no effort aimed at optimizing the overall system as a whole!
As we never really were very good at "coloring between the lines", ToneDoctor will focus its efforts on improving and optimizing the overall tone generating system as a whole, by modifying and tailoring the interactions that occur between its components and major subsystems.
It is well-known, in engineering, science, economics and mathematics, that optimizing each component in a system often results in suboptimization of the system as a whole. Simply stated, what's good for a component isn't necessarily good for the overall system.
The same holds true for the system that generates your tone!
