Micro-tenuation

Blasting your amp is great fun, but doing so can be extremely detrimental to your social standing with family, friends and neighbors!

We've never understood why tube amps aren't routinely configured with headphone and line-out capabilities for silent practice and recording. Sure, you can buy a solid-state modeling amp or a POD, both of which will provide both headphone and line-out capabilities. But you'll lose the tube amp dynamics, warmth and feel. And if you're like us the modeling amp or POD will end up on the forum classifieds or eBay in short order.

We've developed an innovative approach for attenuation of your tube amp output to the "micro" levels required to properly drive headphones or record direct into a mixer or console. We call this innovation "micro-tenuation", and it's the basis of our Solo product line.

The Solo product line, like all our product lines, offers both CabMojo and ComboMojo models utilizing our reversi-fit innovations. As a result, you can simply, reversibly and cost effectively add both headphone and line out capabilities to both combo amps (ComboMojo Solo) and speaker cabinets (CabMojo Solo). Of course, in the latter case you'll get headphone and line-out capabilties from any amp you run into the speaker cabinet!

Our micro-tenuation innovation is defined more by what we don't do than what we do. We don't add complicated, tone-robbing. equilization circuitry that attempts, and necessarily fails, to mimic the speaker tonal characteristics that are lost in a silent practice or recording application.

We instead adopt a minimalist approach, which allows you to shape your tone, as desired, through the tone knobs on your guitar and amp. This is achieved by careful specification and selection of the components required to attenuate the signal levels to the "micro"level, so that these components also effectively provide pre-equalization compensation that enables effective tone shaping from the guitar and amp tone knobs, or from a mixer equalization section.

Does it work? You bet! Tube amp tone, dynamics and warmth at the micro-tenuation levels required for headphone listening and direct recording. It especially shines for cleaner playing styles, like acoustic, jazz and blues. which are a real snap to "dial in".

Just listen to the Solo sound clips....we're sure you'll like what you hear!
